Introduction
As the world is seeking more innovative solutions to make our houses electric and looking for more efficient home heating solutions, Nefit Bosch released a product with an innovative approach that hasn’t been seen in the market yet: the Nefit Bosch heat pump system. This blog post looks into the development of Nefit Bosch’s development and which part MMID played during this.
Project overview
The 5800i AWR heat pump system distinguishes itself by its unique placement and design. Instead of using a traditional two-part setup, it fits its operation into a single unit that mounts directly on the roof. This design choice not only addresses aesthetics, but it also removes the unit out of the house, creating more space and less disturbing sounds inside.
Design Challenges
One of the significant hurdles in heat pump design is managing the noise. With the 5800i AWR this problem is tackled externalizing the system, significantly reducing the sound impact on indoor living spaces. The engineering team prioritized minimizing vibrations and resonance, ensuring a quiet and unobtrusive presence. A second challenge was to create a compact unit capable of fitting in a small casing without sacrificing performance. The team explored various aspects of the design, from styling to usability, and devised an innovative installation system tailored to accommodate the diverse structures of roofs without compromising on weight distribution or installation feasibility.
The task of MMID
We were involved mostly because we already have experience in constructing heat pumps. Our expertise in product development for building applications aligned us perfectly with the job, contributing from exterior to mechanisms, that eventually led to the product that has been launched by Nefit Bosch. The installation process was a focal point of development, considering the variety of roof types and the necessity for a water-tight, durable installation. The team developed a system that allows for efficient installation, aiming for the ambitious goal of one unit per day, despite the complexities of cutting through different roofing materials and ensuring the unit’s compatibility with various architectural styles.

Conclusion
The Nefit Bosch heat pump system represents a significant leap forward in heating technology. By focusing on compact design, noise reduction, and ease of installation, Nefit Bosch and MMID have addressed the most pressing concerns facing homeowners and builders today. As we move towards more sustainable living, innovations like the 5800i AWR system play a crucial role in shaping the future of home heating.
