About the role

As commercial manager, you will head the Commerce team, drive key commercial strategies, and shape the company direction together with the management team.

Your leadership style is a key success factor and should match with the internal competence ‘leadership’. The commercial manager needs to safeguard that the full potential of the team members is utilized. Commerce has a large influence on finding, winning, keeping and developing the right customers. The general responsibility of the commercial manager on department level is the team, a solid execution and where needed improvement of the commercial processes, which results in meeting the targets of the intake of new assignments.

Within the Netherlands you also act as a Sales representative and be in the lead to get on the table with the target group and execute account management activities.

What will you do

  • Your aim is to fully utilize the potential for seniority, talent and (informal) leadership within the team.
  • Being responsible for the output and efficiency of the team and acting when needed is part of the job.
  • You will be a sparring partner for other MT members and act in the interest of the MMID group.
  • Good knowledge with our internal processes is of big importance, especially the ones within Commerce and where Commerce overlaps with Operations and Business Support.
  • You will be in the lead of the delivery of the Commercial plan and take ownership of the execution of it within the Commerce department and together with Operations.
  • You will also position yourself as an expert in product development in the fields of the market segments MMID is active in, and can create ‘hooks’ of added value to the (potential) customer. Also, part of the role is to convert prospects into new customers and developing existing accounts.

Requirements

  • You have an HBO or bachelor’s degree in marketing management/Sales management (or comparable);
  • You have at least 5-8 years of experience as a commercial manager;
  • You have a strong knowledge of Commerce and are commercially driven;
  • You are native Dutch speaking and have excellent communication skills in English and German;
  • You can build a network within the market segments, consisting of customers, experts, users and suppliers;
  • You aim to develop long-lasting working relationships with relevant companies and institutions;
  • You can support developing and evaluating strategies and activities;
  • You can work both independently as within a team;
  • You have knowledge about CRM tool;
  • You have affinity with product development.
