During our visit, we explored key industry trends, connected with healthcare professionals, and analyzed how these innovations will impact medical product development. Here are our main takeaways.

1. User-driven innovation: Growing focus on woman’s health

Medical products are becoming increasingly tailored to diverse user needs, with a growing focus on women’s health. Solutions designed by women, for women, such as the GE breast screening device and advanced breast pumps, highlight the impact of user-driven development. These innovations are great examples on how addressing specific user needs leads to better healthcare outcomes.

Companies like Sanrai are developing specialized home healthcare devices that allow patients to receive treatment outside of hospital settings.

Additionally, the rise in outpatient surgeries—driven by clinic closures and the need for cost-effective care—has led to an increased demand for  efficient and compact medical devices that support remote patient monitoring and treatment.

A clear example of this trend is Ivy Medical, a startup that developed a next-generation wearable infusion pump to improve patient mobility and caregiver efficiency.
